Discover Hope Macaulay’s Colorful and Stylish Knitwear

Chunky knitwear is taking Instagram by storm right now, but it no longer comes just in the form of the trendy throw blankets. Stylish knitwear pieces, including sweaters, cardigans, and vests are extremely popular right now, and Hope Macaulay is one of the brands putting them on the map.

The Irish fashion and textiles designer Hope Macaulay started her namesake brand in 2018 and found instant fame with her kaleidoscopic knitwear and fantasy prints. It didn’t take her long to get approval from several A-list celebrities, including Halsey and Bella Hadid.

Macaulay designs are inspired by her “fascination with the mind, distortion, reality, and surrealism.” She’s trying to craft a bold and vivid experience with each piece of clothing she designs, ranging from knit cardigans and tops to surreal suits, bags, and accessories.

Chunky knitted pieces may not be the only thing that Macaulay has in store, but they’re her biggest hits due to their lively, pastel colors. It also doesn’t hurt their case that they’re made with a high quality 100% jumbo merino wool, which looks like the coziest thing you could possibly wear on a cold and windy day.

Maxwell Tilse is Creating Illustrations Inspired by the World’s Architectural Wonders

It’s always amazing when you manage to mix several of your passions into one, and that’s exactly what Maxwell Tilse is doing with his illustrations. He’s creating amazing drawings inspired by architectural wonders from all around the world.

Tilse is a self-thought artist from Sidney who embarked on a journey of a lifetime after leaving university and setting off backpacking around Europe. Travel, art, and architecture are some of his biggest passions, and his sketches are informed by his love for all three.

Tilse told Outlook Traveler that he realized that drawing is a great companion during his travels because it allowed him to put down memories on paper. He enjoys drawing on location because he feels immediately inspired this way since each building comes with its rich history.

One of the main characteristics of Tilse’s illustrations is his attention to detail, and it can take him up to 50 hours to finish a single work of art. He often shares cutout replicas of famous buildings next to their real-life contra parts, and prints of his best works can be found at Maxwell Illustration Etsy store.

3 Common Mistakes You’re Making with Instagram Filters

Most people can’t imagine posting a single Instagram photo without applying a filter before sharing it with the world. Filters can break or make your photos and help it gain hundreds or even thousands of likes—as long as you avoid these three common mistakes.

Using the Same Filter

Not all filters are created equal. Some of them work great for sunrises and sunsets, while others are a better fit for indoor photography. Even if you want your feed to look tonally cohesive, using the same filter isn’t the best way to accomplish it.

Editing Options

In addition to filters, Instagram also offers editing options. They can be used to change brightness, contrast, saturation, and many other aspects of your photo. If there’s something about your photo that’s a little bit off after you applied the filter, you can use editing options to improve it.

Avoiding Other Photo Tools

Instagram isn’t the only app that you can use to apply filters to your photos. Most professional bloggers and influencers opt for Lightroom presets instead, while others prefer enhansing their Instagram feed by using VSCO filters.

It’s enough to see Khotsianovich’s once to memorize them since they’re unlike anything else you’ll find on Etsy. Her ceramic pieces are whimsical and functional at the same time, and they’re the perfect gift for nature lovers in your life—if you’re lucky enough to find them in stock.

Murava Ceramics pottery is mostly inspired by scenes from nature. Mug and spoon handle mostly take the shapes of plants and animals, and that’s what makes them so unique. Khotsianovich mostly uses clay to bring her creations to life, and her signature mushroom mugs are her biggest hit.

The ceramic artist based in Belarus finds the inspiration in the forests, fields, and lakes of her home country, and its simplicity and natural beauty are her biggest inspiration. She enjoys reflecting its beauty with her ceramics and infusing it with a touch of enchantment and fantasy that her creations are best known for.

Get to Know Juliet Johnstone, The Artist Behind Bella Hadid and Dua Lipa’s Customized Carharrt Pants

You may not know who Juliet Johnstone is yet, but chances are you’ve seen some of her work on Bella Hadid and Dua Lipa. Known for her customized Carharrt pants, the artist is expanding her designs from painted pants to pullover fleeces.

A graduate of Parsons, Johnstone began experimenting with wearable artwork as something “creative and carefree”. The artist has been wearing vintage sport fleeces for a while, but she was never able to find one that she believed represented her—until she created her own.

When speaking with Vogue UK she reminisced about searching eBay for ’80s and ’90s fleeces in bright colors, but never finding one that fit the way she wanted, “The one issue for me was, the fit was never right. The women’s fleece was a tailored cut and was meant to hug the body, which I did not want. The small men’s fleece was a cooler and boxier fit, but it was too long and didn’t fit the shoulders.”

The designer now makes painted fleece sweatshirts with elastic and cord stoppers at the bottom that can be adjusted to fit all genders. These are the first product from the artist that aren’t unique. She vows to only make what is purchased, so she isn’t wasting clothes and the sweaters will only be available for pre-order for a week ending October 30. After that, the design won’t be available again.

Johnstone wants to make the experience similar to buying art because she views herself as an artist, not a fashion designer. “I try to make the experience similar to the one of buying art, because at the end of the day I still call myself an artist over a fashion designer,” she explained.

Aurora James and Kerby Jean-Raymond Shoes Celebrate Black Women in Music

Aurora James, the designer of Brother Vellies and Kerby Jean-Raymond, the founder and creative director of Pyer Moss, have known each other for years and while vacationing in Bermuda, they began designing for their collaboration. James designed the shoes for Jean-Raymond’s Collection 3 which was shown during New York Fashion Week Spring 2020 and was the final part of Jean-Raymond’s collection “American Also” fashion show trilogy.

The fashion shows represented Black women in pop culture, specifically across music genres and generations. The models celebrated these women by wearing bolero jackets, wide-leg pants, ethereal gowns, and rhinestone-detailed looks, but it was the shoes that made the statement.

James’ designs showcased Black women in music with thigh-high heels and ankle-height cowboys boots in shades of black, white, and neon pink. One pair of boots had a painting by artist Richard Phillips which featured Sister Rosetta Tharpe, the Black woman who invented rock-n-roll.

“Collection 3 was partly inspired by Sister Rosetta Tharpe and other Black women in music, so honoring their contributions by collaborating with Brother Vellies felt like home,” Jean-Raymond told Vogue.

One of the best pieces in the collection, which happens to also be one of James’ favorite is the Swarovski crystal-embellished boots, took around 118 hours of handwork.

The palm canopies are underlined with nozzles that spray mist into the air to create a cooler environment. This in return will keep the temperature low and controllable in the Oasis area. We wanted to create cool and breathable outdoor spaces. We will collect and harvest solar energy with solar panels placed on the roofs of the palms. With the foundation housing storage units, we will be able to store electricity as well as able to distribute it at outlet points. With the palms and branches of the structure, it allows protection from wind and sound. We would like to block out all external effects from the surrounding area and stop it entering the space, as wind and noise. This allows creating a calm and peaceful environment. We also will have trees surrounding the structure to create an extra-eco space. This will also help with deflecting wind and sound and creating fresh air and creating a habitat and sanctuary for birds. #designboom#maskarchitects#abudhabi#dubai #architecture#architecturephotography #arch #architecturelovers #architecturedesign #archery #architect #setterarchitects #architectural #archdaily #architecture_hunter #architecture_hunter #archilovers #archaeology #technology#maskarchitects#arup#architettura #architecture_london #mexico #arch_daily#architecturephotography #archery #designmilkvideos #designmilk #deezen#d_signers#designboom #archidetails #design__vision
