The Wonderful World of Mentat Gamze’s Red Dot Tattoos

It’s extremely important for tattoo artists to develop their own style and come up with something that separates them from everyone else, and Mentat Gamze found a way. The majority of her tattoos share one small, almost invisible detail—a mysterious red dot.

Before becoming a tattoo artist, Gamze studied German Philology at the Hacettepe University, but found it hard to land a job she was passionate about. Giving tattoo art a try helped her get out of the soul crashing work routine she was stuck in, and she commemorated the change in her life with the red dot.

In Gamze’s case, the tiny crimson mark was a symbol of hope and courage, and a contradiction to burdensome times in her past. Her customers tend to give their own meanings to their dots, and she enjoys helping them tell their stories and carry them on their bodies.

The Turkish artist shared hundreds of tattoos on her Instagram page since starting her creative journey, and they’re true works of art. Some are black and white, while others are bursting with color, but the red dot accompanies all of them and gives them a new layer of meaning.

Niroma Studio is Taking Fiber Art to a Whole New Level

If you’re in the mood to explore the rich and wonderful world of fiber art, Niroma Studio should be the first stop on your journey. Cindy Hwang Bokser started this project in an attempt to share her macramé art with the world, but it has since grown into a community of fiber art lovers.

Bokser started Niroma Studio in 2015, frustrated by the lack of macramé rope options available on the market. She joined forces with manufacturers in an attempt to create macramé string and rope she could use in her work and share with other fiber art lovers struggling to find good resources.

After selling her hand-woven tapestries and macramé art through Niroma Studio, Bokser wanted to help other macramé artists, weavers, and fiber arts enthusiasts do the same. As her business evolved, her offer went on to include a line of fibers, original looms, fiber art accessories, and tools.

Niroma Studio is now more than a business—it’s the safe haven of the fiber art community. In addition to selling quality supplies, they offer macramé tutorials, workshops, and a podcast to everyone interested in this art form. Their Instagram page is also an amazing promotional tool, and it’s constantly showcasing amazing creations from fiber artists from all around the world.

Ramona Chantaf’s Fashion Illustrations Are Straight Out of a Fairy Tale

You don’t have to be a huge fashion lover to appreciate a good fashion illustration—especially if they’re created by Ramona Chantaf. She’s the mastermind behind some of the most magical fashion illustrations on Instagram, and we wouldn’t mind seeing some of her dresses on the red carpet.

Chantaf is based in Sweden and describes herself as a fulltime UX designer, who enjoys illustrating and painting on the side. Her Instagram page Atelier Chantaf has almost 50,000 followers, and one of her illustrations even made it to the Indian version of Harper’s Bazaar.

It goes without saying that Chantaf usually draws inspiration from fashion, and Zuhair Murad and Valentino seem to be among her favorite designers. It’s not uncommon for her to draw illustrations inspired by the runway and red carpet looks, but the majority of her illustrations happen to be designs of her own making.

Chantaf is pretty versatile when it comes to painting, and she enjoys using everything from watercolors to metallic acrylics to bring her illustrations to life. There’s something truly magical about them, and we’re really hoping she’ll give fashion design a shot one day because her gowns would look even more amazing if they were real.

Glitter Artists Yana Potter Creates the Most Dazzling Photos on Instagram

Graphic designers use Photoshop for all sorts of different things, and Yana Potter is using it to make the world a little bit better, shinier place. The viral glitter artists developed a special technique that she uses to make seemingly-ordinary photos more dazzling and magical.

Before discovering her love for glitter art and starting a viral Instagram account last year, Potter graduated university with a photography degree and attended several professional courses in related fields. She’s not completely self-thought, but her signature glitter technique is something that she came up with on her own.

Potter’s followers often ask her how she makes her photos so sparkly, but there’s no magic wand you can use to recreate this effect. Each photo is unique in its own right, and it usually takes several hours to create a single one since there’s no single scheme that always works.

Potter currently has over 120,000 followers, and her page became Instagram’s main source of glitter art. She draws inspiration from everything around her and tries to listen to her intuition as each new photo takes her on a different creative journey.

Celebrate the Beautiful Colors of Fall With These Leaf Crafts

It’s hard to be in a bad mood when walking outside and seeing all the beautiful leaves falling from the trees. The rich reds, golds, and oranges found in nature provide an endless supply of craft ideas that are perfect for doing by yourself or with your children. Once the temperatures start to drop, go outside for a nature walk and collect as many leaves as you can for these art projects. Once your done, you’ll have some great home decor pieces that are one of a kind.

Leaf-Stamped Table Runner

Create your very own custom table runner that’s perfect for a casual meal or Thanksgiving dinner. All you need is fabric paints in fall colors like browns, dark greens, deep reds, and rich yellows, a long piece of linen or burlap material, a paint roller, and fallen leaves. With a paint roller, coat a fallen leaf one at a time in fabric paint and press it, paint-side down onto the material. Then, place a piece of paper on top and roll over it with a brayer to capture the little details.

Magnolia Leaf Wreath

Wreaths are a fall staple and all you need for this project are a metal wreath-frame and fresh magnolia leaves. Once you have your materials, thread fresh magnolia leaves through the frame one by one.

Watercolor Leaf Art

Begin by taking a walk outside to find the leaves you want to use for this project. Then with a pencil, lightly trace a leaf onto watercolor paper and dip a paintbrush in plain water and fill in and saturate the leaf shape. Dip the brush in watercolor paint and carefully touch it to the wet shape in a few places. Then, gently erase the outside so you can’t see it.

Meet Colin LoCascio: The Kendall + Kylie Designer Starting His Own Label

Although Colin LoCascio isn’t yet a household name, you’ve probably already seen some of his designs. The 26-year-old designer has dressed some of Hollywood’s hottest celebrities including Bella Hadid, Lil Yachty, Rita Ora, and Cardi B in his statement-making outerwear pieces. A native of Queens, the designer attended the Rhode Island School of Design before working for Marc Jacobs doing embroidery layers and laser-cut leathers. His current collection melds his background and experience with celebrities. You’ll still see an ode to his love for outerwear, like a textured cream coat with flames, as well as fun pieces like a turtleneck with faces of dinosaurs and fur bucket hats.

His collection is influenced by his love for the ’90s and ’00s as well as shows like Lizzie McGuire, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, and Moesha. “I was seeing how pop culture has manifested into my aesthetic. It was a very special moment for me and a self-love thing,” the designer told Vogue.

He also accounted for the people he dresses, “There are little moments of Cardi B and Bella Hadid,” he says. “The people that I have worked with have trickled into the vernacular of how I am designing,” LoCascio continued.

We expect more celebrities to wear Colin LoCascio’s designs at future red carpet events.

Duda Lozano Creates Intricate Embroidery Tattoos

Embroidery and tattoos are two art forms that usually don’t mix together, but Duda Lozano decided to change that. Brazilian tattoo artists came up with a creative way to connect these art forms through his signature embroidery tattoos.

Lozano kicked off his career as a tattoo artist in 2002 after welding his mentor’s needles. Before embarking on this creative journey, he had experience working with logo creation for caps and embroidered shirts. He decided to use his knowledge from this field after switching to tattoo art and found a way to stand out from other artists by combining these two art forms together.

“I remembered working with embroidery and thought I could use it in my new career. I wasn’t the first to start inking people with these unique tattoos, but I was the first one to make it so realistic, leaving “broken” strings (my signature) and other imperfections,” he told Bored Panda.

Lozano’s main priority is to create tattoos that are incredibly realistic, and he’s making it happen by understanding light and shadow, without using any special tricks. His tattoos are usually inspired by pop culture, especially beloved cartoon characters, and he enjoys mixing his signature embroidery style with classic tattoos from time to time.
