For this tutorial you’ll need:

  • jeans or jean shorts
  • ruler
  • chalk pencil
  • fabric shears
  • gaffer tape
  • plastic bag
  • bleach pen
  • bleach gel

Step 1:

With gaffer tape, tape one side of your jeans, making sure to get as close to the middle seem as possible. Once the middle seams are covered from front to back, tape a plastic bag on top of one half of the shorts to cover them.

Step 2:

In a well-ventilated area or outdoors, use a bleach pen to line the exposed seam of the shorts. This will help you get a clean line. With bleach gel, cover the entire exposed area of the shorts, making sure to get as close to the seem as you can.
