Kiana Bonollo is Using Her Sewing Skills to Recreate Iconic Celebrity Outfits

It usually takes a whole team of people to make some of the best celebrity red carpet looks, but Kiana Bonollo is trying to recreate them all on her own. The talented fashion designer from North Carolina is using her sewing skills to put a budget-friendly twist on iconic luxury designer looks.

Bonollo is a 24-year-old content creator from Raleigh, North Carolina, who became quite a sensation on social media since she started sharing her skills with the world. She attracted over 1.5 million followers across several social media platforms, and her step-to-step sewing guides will inspire you to give this craft a chance.

Bonollo enjoys taking her followers behind the scenes and showing them what goes into making her original designs. Even though she enjoys coming up with her own dresses, she owes most of her audience to the viral videos that show her recreating popular celebrity looks.

We’ve seen her recreate dresses worn by the likes of Paris Hilton, Olivia Rodrigo, and Gigi Hadid, but her take on Dua Lipa’s recent Met Gala looks is her biggest hit. The original Chanel bridal gown hails from 1992, and Bonollo managed to make a $200 replica from the comfort of her home.

“I started researching it to see it on the original model and I kept falling more in love with it, the more angles I saw of it… I’m assuming it took them weeks or months to make, at least weeks, probably months. I know usually it’s a team of people working on big dresses like this,” she told Insider.
