New Designers to Watch at 2020 New York Fashion Week

We’re currently in the midst of 2020 New York Fashion Week and designers are showing their Spring/Summer 2021 collections. While we’re sure you’ve been paying attention to the big names in fashion like Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, and Ralph Lauren, who actually weren’t on the CFDA official Fashion Week calendar, there are a total of 15 new American brands on the schedule that you should check out. These are the ones you should get to know.

Theophilio

Designer Edvin Thompson of Theophilio’s inspiration comes from Thompson’s home country of Jamaica. Throughout the collection, you can see bright colors, fringe details, lightweight fabrics like mesh and chiffon, and the use of upcycled materials.

Frère

Davidson Petit-Frère, the designer behind Frère, left his job in real estate to pursue his love of fashion and he already has a celeb following that includes Jay-Z, Michael B. Jordan, and Chris Paul. He’s now launching a women’s line at New York Fashion Week and based on his Instagram page, the line features timeless, impeccably tailored suits.
