Barbie has been a timeless fashion icon for generations and Margot Robbie took a page from her book while promoting Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie. Many of her red carpet looks have been pulled from the archives of Barbie’s long past and paid homage to some of her most iconic looks.

The Original (1959)

One of Robbie’s early promo looks shows her rocking a custom black and white mini dress by Herve Leger, paying a clear homage to the very first Barbie that wore a swimsuit with a similar print.

Day to Night (1985)

Australian actress pulled all the stops while promoting Barbie in South Korea, and delivered not one, but two mind-blowing Versace looks in an attempt to recreate the 80s nostalgia of “Day to Night” Barbie.

Sparkling Pink (1964)

Robbie put a modern twist on Barbie’s “Sparkling Pink” look from the ’60s with this Moschino ensemble from 2015, which she paired with a matching headpiece and heart-shaped bag.

Solo in the Spotlight (1960)

Just when we throughout that Robbie’s South Korea press tour looks will be impossible to top, she proved us wrong at the film’s world premiere. She hit the red carpet in the dazzling Schiaparelli gown, long opera gloves, and Lorraine Schwartz diamond choker necklace.

Enchanted Evening (1960)

Some of Robbie’s very best promo tour looks were inspired by the Old Hollywood glamour of the ’60s, and that certainly happens to be the case with this corseted dress blush pink gown by Vivienne Westwood.
