For many, there isn’t a happier place on earth than Disneyland. Ultimate Disney fan, Kelsey Hermanson, decided to bring the magic of Disney into her home by decorating each room to portray a different classic movie including a Cinderella-themed master bedroom and a bathroom inspired by The Little Mermaid.
The DIY-er loves finding vintage and antique pieces on Facebook Marketplace, Amazon, and Disney stores while she travels. “I like to create a space to feel like you’re in a scene from the movie,” Kelsey told POPSUGAR. “I make a lot of my decor myself, but I also like to repurpose thrift store finds into my designs. It might look expensive, but the true story is I did it all on a budget.”
Each room is as spectacular as the last and Kelsey doesn’t skimp on the details. Take for example the Genie faucets found in the Aladdin master bathroom and the tiny door in the Alice in Wonderland powder room.
So far, she’s done 11 rooms with her favorite being the Cinderella master bedroom. “I love the colors and overall dreamy aesthetic,” she said. “It truly feels like you are sleeping in Cinderella’s bedroom.”
She’s been working on her Disney-themed house for the past three years and she’s constantly updating it. When the holidays come this year, she plans on decorating the living room in a Coco theme instead of it’s usual Lilo & Stitch and adding The Nightmare Before Christmas decor and a pink coral Christmas tree inspired by Ariel’s Christmas Under the Sea. Kelsey’s also working on her daughter’s princess-themed playroom.
Which room is your favorite? To be honest, we can’t pick just one!
