Dauphinette is Utilizing Pressed Flowers in Their Whimsical Fashion Designs

Many fashion brands are trying to embrace sustainability these days, but no one is doing it better than Dauphinette. This brand is known for using nontraditional recycled fabrics and materials in their designs—including pressed flowers.

This New York-based brand was started by Olivia Cheng in 2018, and it first caught the eye of the fashion experts because many pieces included vintage and antique components. She took thrift shopping to a whole new level by creating one-of-a-kind pieces made from modified vintage items or from entirely repurposed materials.

Cheng’s business model is truly unique and she has all sorts of different ways of repurposing vintage items, but her pressed flower creations are our favorite. Her Instagram page is filled with all sorts of different pieces, mostly bags, jewelry, organza dresses, and tops decorated with flowers.

Real flowers are utilized in the creations of these items, but the product descriptions on Dauphinette’s official website warn there are variations in the type and color of flowers. It’s also possible they’ll change in color as time goes by, but they describe this transformation as “nature’s way of showing you love.”
