It takes some time to develop your own style as a tattoo artist, but Ayhan Karadag is doing a great job paving his own path. He specializes in unique and minimal colored style-tattoos that look straight out of the pages of your favorite children’s book.
With almost 120,000 Instagram followers and counting, Karadag is truly a master of his craft. He started his artistic journey at 11 and experimented with different art forms over the years, before realizing that human skin is the most valuable material there is.
While discussing his craft with Bored Panda, the Turkish tattoo artist explained that he enjoys this art form because tattoos allow people to carry the fairytale designs from their imagination to their bodies for their entire life. His designs are often inspired by “fairytale stories which happen in our dreams, intertwined with nature and animals.”
Due to their whimsical, dreamy designs, many of Karadag’s have a childlike vibe, but not all of them are reminiscent of cartoon characters. This tattoo artist also draws inspiration from famous works of art, literature, and popular culture, and his versatility knows no bounds.
