Ariadna Giménez is Crafting Gaudi-Inspired Architecture Through the Power of AI

Antoni Gaudí went down in history as one of the biggest visionaries of Catalan architecture and designed some of the most show-stopping buildings in Spain. Designer Ariadna Giménez, the mastermind behind the creative project Gaudsm, is paying homage to his unique style through the power of AI.

Giménez is a multidisciplinary designer, who got her masters in advanced architecture from the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia. Her area of expertise includes everything from photography to social media, but she’s especially fond of 3D visualization, interior design, and architecture.

Giménez caught our eye with her social media project Gaudism, which sees her using the power of artificial intelligence to craft brand-new buildings that look like Antoni Gaudí himself could’ve designed them.

Gaudí’s magnum opus is the Sagrada Família church in Barcelona, but he built many other iconic buildings in the Catalan capital, most notably Park Güell, Casa Batlló, and Casa Milà.

According to Giménez, this project is “exploring aspects of Catalan Modernisme at different scales and translating it into a contemporary minimalist expression of natural forms.” She focuses on the curves, the dynamism, and the beyond-fairytale aspect or fantasy feel of Gaudi’s buildings while using the power of AI to bring them into the modern world.
