Harris Reed’s Over-the-Top Hats Pack a Statement!

No wardrobe is complete without some killer accessories and Harris Reed’s hats prove that sometimes, bigger is better. While Reed may be still relatively unknown with less than 200,000 Instagram followers, they’re better known for their designs that have been worn by Harry Styles, Solange Knowles, Celeste, and Troye Sivan.

Reed, who identities as gender fluid with they/them pronouns, has always been into fashion as they played dress up when they were younger and experimented with duct tape before getting into one of the best design school in the country—Central Saint Martins, which is where fellow designers John Galliano and Alexander McQueen graduated from.

While attending the school, they worked with Harry Styles’ stylist Harry Lambert, and their designs ended up on Harry Styles for his arena tours. Not only is Reed a designer, but they have also modeled, walking the Gucci runway and was featured in Alessandro Michele’s first gender-neutral campaign.

Reed’s work is designed to create a conversation about gender fluidity and inclusivity, and their designs are inspired by current social and political issues.

Reed describes their work as “Romanticism Gone Nonbinary,” and we especially love their oversized hats, which have since been turned into a filter on Instagram. So far, Kaia Gerber, Jeremy O. Harris, Jodie Turner-Smith have worn the hats and the filter, named the Harris Reed filter, has been used over 850,000 times.
